quote:
on contact between spermatozoa and fluids of the female genital tract, those fluids wash way the inhibitory factors that suppress sperm in the male genital ducts. Second, once entering the female genital tract, those spermatozoa lose the reserve of free-floating cholesterol vesicles which strengthen the acrosome. As they swim toward the uterine cavity, that excess cholesterol is lost, exposing sperm, which are coated with alkaline fluid from the seminal vesicles and the prostate gland, to the extremely acidic secretions of the female genital tract.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
One time I was with an MIT graduate at a science museum in Massachusetts. I was looking at one of those displays of a ball going in circles around a conically shaped bowl. I'm an engineer, so he assumed more than was there and said, "I know what you're thinking - Einstein's Theory of Relativity, right?" I said, "No. I was thinking 'Look at that silver ball going round and round.'"
