Got one every year since my first kid was born. Never had any type of reaction or flu
But I never had flu before I started getting shot either

I get them every year. Even if you get unlucky and get the flu that year the symptoms will be much less severe.
Oh and people don't get the flu or flu symptoms from the shot. It's called an immune response, congrats on your immune system working properly

I won't get the shot anymore because the day of the shot and the day after I basically have flu symptoms
No you don't

I was sick for several days after my last one
"Sick" is relative, I guess. Arm pain and malaise for 1 day does not equal sick to me. That's about the worst you'll get from the flu shot. If you were "sick for several days," - like, actually sick - then that wasn't from the flu shot.

Yeah and every cough and sniffle and fever is not the flu. Love the people who swear up and down they have the flu....but never went to the doctor and had it confirmed.
And people always forget that it takes 2 weeks for the flu shot to even protect you. So if you did get really sick after the shot....it wasn't the shot, you just were exposed to something before the shot could protect you(assuming it is the flu you even have).
This has been an insanely busy flu season here. I'm glad I got the shot back in October. I've been exposed to both Flu A and B at work and didn't get sick. Even if it wasn't already mandatory at work....I would still get the shot every year.

My experience is that I have 2 choices:
A. Get the shot and work
B. Don't get the shot and get placed on leave until the end of flu season
I get the shot
