I am genuinely surprised there are not more choking deaths in timed eating contests.
Even the "professional" ones. Lets say the #5 finisher in Coney Island put down 54 buns and wieners in ten minutes. Even if he cleared that into his stomach, good god that is a lot of food and the bread is like glue down there. I would halfway expect some of them to choke on the thick, thick vomit that arises from all that.
