If you've got AT&T or T-Mobile, switch to Consumer Cellular and cut your bill in half. CC uses the AT&T network so you'll have identical coverage. Bring your own GSM phone and port your existing number for free. And no activation charges.

I just looked at it and they cannot beat what I'm paying right now with AT&T. I have 5 lines on Family Share with 700mins voice, unlimited text and 6GB data. My bill is only about $300/month right now. I started pricing CC and it was more than that before I even finished pricing it all of the way.

?? Five lines at CC sharing 1000 minutes would be $70 a month. Add $30 a month for the max data plan that includes 15,000 text messages and 2GB of data. Even if you run over on the data it's only 1.5 cents per MB or $60 max. That's $160 a month vs. $300.

Maybe I was working their site wrong, but that's not how it was pricing it for me. I'll go check it out again.

So if I were to switch from AT&T, T-Mobile would pay those fees?
How is T-Mobile's service overall?
AT&T network is far better than T-Mobile. I made a trip from Dallas to south LA and the service was spotty on I20 and I49. It sucked. I switched when I got back.

You only pay for the first line and then add lines for $10 each to share the minutes and data.
BTW, it's even less if you're an AARP member.

I called AT&T yesterday and went to the cancellation dept. I told them about what T-Mobile is doing and asked if they would like to do anything to keep me as a loyal customer. They gave me $15 off per line for 3 months. That totals to $225. Not sure what I was really expecting, but I was happy with it. I wasn't going to switch to T-Mobile anyways, so I guess it's a win.
Free money from a shitty cell phone company doesn't do me too much good when I can't make a call/text.
I just called to cancel and was asked if was because of the T-Mobile offer. I ended up getting my unlimited text free for 6 months. Which saves me $30 a month.
Saved $180 for a quick phone call.
