Nothing wrong with ASI in my opinion. Just was attracted to them initially due to their very low flat $1,000 deductibles and I was willing to take a bit of a chance on them nickel and dimeing me at claim time but they went up quite a bit on my renewal and for slightly less I was able to get USAA for only slightly higher deductibles. I know USAA is much better but does anyone have any claim experience with them? How was it?

Edit: sorry, I hit the submit button accidentally.

I’ve had USAA for 20+ years and they are the best insurance company in the business. They may be a little higher in some areas, but in others they are very reasonable. I’ve had a few claims with them and not only is it going smoothly, when I talk to the people that are doing the work and tell them it’s USAA they say....ok....great. I just received a close to $500 check from them for being a good customer in 2019. This happens every year. Good switch!

I am but I only see and hear of my side of it. I also haven’t been in the property and casualty side of it for a long time. Just wondering what those who have had claims experience with them have to say. I’ve worked with some of the industry leaders in the past but even those have pissed off customers out there.

I have USAA and my son was hit from behind in an accident. At the time he was driving a 2014 Sierra that had 40000 miles on it. I bought the truck with 20000 miles and paid 36000. So my son put 20000 on the truck before the accident and USAA paid me $35000. I had the check from USAA before the person that hit my sons truck Insurance had even contacted me.
I never had to do anything as far as the other persons insurance. I assume USAA went after them.

I have USAA homeowners insurance.

Lost my house to a fire. Never figured out how it started. Lost 95% of my belongings... Home was pretty much gutted.

USAA replaced everything and completely rebuilt the house. No hold ups... minimal questions... Smooth and easy.

The "interview" was a little unexpected.. I was interviewed for about 30 mins... Making sure I didn't set the fire myself.

I recommend them all the time.
