I'll say this about my time there: Jacksonville is a really nice clean well-run city. It's also boring AF. It's got it's hoods, it's got it's 'glades rednecks. It's got a lot of really nice cool ppl. And I left there in 2006 and moved to NOLA. I do not regret that decision.

Did something similar with an Avalanche when I was running jobsites on the railroads. Wasn't nearly as ghetto though as the back of the cab opens into the box on an Avi, so I stuck an AC unit back there and ran it off a generator instead of idling the truck all day long.

Saved a lot of gas but was more hassle than it was worth if I was on a site where I had to move around at all.

If you haven't been back to jacksonville since 2006 then you have missed alot of growth and development especially the infastructure and the revitalization of areas around downtown. Hell the outdoor mall and the area around st . John's town center is booming. As soon as we get rid of the landing by the stadium in downtown jacksonville the area will be hopping and be a destination especially with the jags and the arena.
