It was a buck a mg for me. Roxy 15 were 15. Thirty’s were 30. Etc. that’s two years ago. I was up to 120mg/daily so do the math. And a very high functioning professional employee. It can get anyone. Started with 5mg norco. For two blown out elbows. Simple, honest need. Until my months supply was up in 8-10 days, then it was up in 4-5 days etc. had to hit the streets. That’s how it happens. And it happens a lot. A whole lot. About the time Smack became an serious thought as to affordability, I knew the gig was up. Couldn’t go there. Hit the subs. But hell, they were as good as any opiate. I was like “wow. A freaking legal super buzz”, but truly they are even worse.

I have an extremely addictive personality. So glad I never got in to opiates or benzos.

Sadly before I got on subs I was doing 20 30mg roxys a day. It's why that drug is so dangerous. I would snort 4 at time at that time and god forbid if I was ever stupid enough to slide I would bet 4 may put me down after being off for 3 years. I don't know that but I don't plan on finding out either. It ruined my life.

It is an agonist/antagonist combo prep, so at least in theory, it should be less harmful - both from an addiction standpoint and risk of accidental death standpoint.

I didn't either until got hit by a drunk driver when I was 28 and lost the use of my left arm, got prescribed oxycontin by a DR (not drug dealer), got unprescribed by the same Dr after a few years and had no idea how to address a 180mg/ day lack of prescription addiction. You're right junkies suck

It was terrible. If I would've shot up or gotten on heroin there is no way I would've been able to quit or live

My 76 year old stepmother just got out of rehab - addicted to Lortab, of course. In the past 5 years, she went through breast cancer, double mastectomy, and knee replacement surgery. I had started to notice that she was getting forgetful, speech was off and she just didn't seem right. I was thinking it was dementia of some sorts. Had no clue she was taking pills.
Out of the blue she called me and asked if I would take her to Mississippi for rehab. I was floored.
She said that she didn't have many good years left and she didn't want to spend them on pills. She researched rehab facilities, talked to her doctor; set everything up on her own.
They wanted to put her on suboxone because of her age, but she refused. She's been home about 6 weeks; was in rehab for 6 weeks. So far so good.
She was the last person I'd ever expect to be a pill head. Just needed so much pain meds because of her surgeries and couldn't get herself off.
I still feel terribly about; I should have been watching more closely.

Danilo shows up in every single topic regarding people dealing with addiction. Just disregard him. There is not a person on earth without skeletons in the closet- not one. That’s the last entertainment he will get from me.
