Prove it!! Just googled. This kids family would have to be making less than 60k a year to be eligible. Also they don't pay for cost of living. Cost of living in Boston >>>>> free room and board at Alabama.

It varies a little from year to year with each applicant pool but you have to be very poor to get a free ride. Some of them (cornell for sure) also count the value of your properties too so some people may miss out if they're income is crap but they're sitting on some nice land or house.

The Caribbean schools are expensive. Usually it is people that just didn't get into the US schools not the ones that couldn't afford it.

There's no doubt that I got my first job because of my Dartmouth undergraduate degree. From then on, job offers were the result of the connections and reputation I'd developed at work.

This might be true on average, but our son who recently graduated from LSU earns much more in his first corporate gig than I did in mine, even adjusting for the 245% inflation over these 30+ years.

I've spent a decent amount of time in Hanover over the last few years...I have to tell you, going out to dinner in town and listening to the conversations makes you wonder if you're in a parallel universe!!!!

but I do love to stay at the Hanover Inn...

You can take the kid out of the trailer park but you can't take the trailer park out of the kid. Perfect example of how taking a kid out of his double-wide in T-Town can't adjust to modern society when he sees a two story building.

I understand why he did it, but I still think it was a stupid decision. But, it's his life.

The kid didn't want to be a financial burden on his parents. Bama is throwing a ton of money at the kid. I can't blame him.
