I guess I mean "good" teachers should be paid better...and I definitely know what you mean. Most of my HS teachers were excellent, but I had an algebra teacher that was a moron. The students were always correcting her mistakes and almost the entire class of otherwise A /B students were failing.

I would be OK with that. It would be significantly cheaper and might stop them from doing the stupid shite they've been doing for the last 15 years.

so, would you say that you're for merit pay? What would you say to the teacher's unions when they complain. "Go frick yourselves" is an appropriate answer.

SMHS did have pretty good teachers. What algebra teacher are you talking about? I think I may remember her

I was on the phone...not avoiding. But the truth is, I did not know about the FEMA extension.

Would you be active in trying to decriminalize marijuana?

Stormy, I would highly recommend clicking the "post reply" button on the one to which you're responding. It makes us confused when you respond to the wrong person.

Obviously, we're talking about the same teacher since I am pretty sure she was the only female one. LOL

yeah, but you went to a magnet school .. for the most part, your teachers were the creme de la creme ... how in the world are you going to be able to put in a system of merit pay for teachers .. also, can you name the last U.S. Senator that was able to trump the state superintendent of education as well as the parish superintendent and the school board to get this done ?

how do you feel about home schooling, vis-a-vis government involvement in preventing it?

But at least you didn't feel like you were being checked out like a certain creepy calculus/trig male teacher.

LOL...I never said I knew how to do it. I don't have a fricking clue on how to do a lot of things. I just said I think it needs to be done.
Posted on 2/13/09 at 4:41 pm to Stormydaniels
don't worry about actually doing it, that's what administrative functionaries are for.
