As of this morning, we only had a little over 2.5” of rain at my house in Madisonville. Might top 3” after the rain this afternoon. The highest wind gust my little weather station registered was 23mph. A lot better than the 6”-10” and 50mph gusts they were predicting.

It seems they’ve nailed the track of storms now, but intensity forecasts are still a struggle. This thing seemed more like a depression than a tropical storm.

It had the central pressure of 993 mb. Our pressure at MSY bottomed out at 994.8 mb (29.37 in/hg). Average sustained winds at MSY ( Sunday) was only around 17 knots (20 mph) . We did have a peak gust of 35 knots( 40 mph) but that’s it. Most of the afternoon and evening only had gusts to 22-26 knots ( 25-30 mph.

Dry air associated with UL trough chocked this system with drier air on the Sw-Nw side.

The 12z GFS wants us to make plans for another get together late next week. Waiting to see if the 18z GFS does too.
