Many of the home owners arent local so unless you can get there to get your boat hauled away before the mandatory evacuation is ordered you are SOL.
Watching this video is a good reminder of why I wouldn’t ever ride out a direct hit from even a 1 or 2 on a barrier island.
AC - gone
Car - gone
Boat - gone
Electric - gone
Roads - washed out
Bridges - damaged
Not to mention another two feet of storm surge and the platform the house is built on starts taking direct hits from 6’ waves with 100+mph wind gusts working on your roof.
Explain how any of that is a win?
