Periodically I'll crank up the generator to run my electric blower. I blow off the drive way, then plug in my refrigerator under the back porch. I'd rather burn a couple gallons of gas knowing it will crank in time of need, then need it and it won't crank. Just wanted to share this with you Baws stay safe out there.

Where I work, we run our generators 30 minutes one day a week for this very reason.

That’s excessive. Do you run them under load? How often do you clean your fuel, and how much fuel do you keep on site in terms of runtime? Diesel I assume.

Keep about 35 gallons of fuel and 4 quarts of oil on hand and that should be enough for 3 maybee 4 nights
