In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max’s toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog…When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I went nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out…But the worst thing I ever done — I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa — and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life

This reminds me. One year in homeroom we had this teacher. She was somewhat of a dingbat, but she had muscular dystrophy or something so she walked all crazy. The kids made fun of her relentlessly.
A fellow classmate sitting next to me had 10 dollars worth of quarters in a Rouse’s bag of sorts. Out of nowhere he just hums this bag right past her at the chalk board. It sounded like a gun went off. At least to her it did. She hit the deck and moved as fast as we had ever seen her out of that class room.
Everyone was laughing. There was a big investigation law and order style. Finally he fessed up.
Typing this reminded me of another one. We had a substitute in chemistry. This lady must have been in her 70’s. She stood no chance. She did not last long. We would constantly “crate” this kid in class and all that meant was putting a milk crate over his head randomly in class. This would draw the greatest reactions from her.

Broadmoor around 80-81’ we had a history teacher that had us all come to class and dress as a person from history. Some kids were Lincoln or Washington or Betsy Ross. I dressed as a Nazi complete with an armband with a Swastika. Nobody gave it a second thought. Kind of surreal thinking about these days.
Another classmate dressed as a Klansman. Most of us just scrounged up our costume from whatever was around the house. This guy had an authentic Klan outfit, mask and all that he got from some relative. Again nobody gave it a second thought. It was part of history.
To top it off there was a lady from East Baton Rouge schools visiting the class. She was black.
