I wouldn't be surprised if those are gone before they get rid of income tax. Nelson wants to get rid of ITEP and balance it with getting rid of these taxes.

I have lived in a lot of states and in my experience, this is just a political ploy. The state and locality has to have tax $ to provide the services that they provide. It doesn’t matter whether it is in the form of income taxes, sales taxes, vehicle registration, or whatever.

I think Texas has added 10 million people since 2000 and the state government employs roughly the same amount of people as it did then if you want a useful comparison.

I mean, I think every economist in the world would disagree with you. It certainly does matter whether and when a tax is levied.
