1. You're forgetting that SG currently pays into the "general fund" , which partially funds brpd.

2. BRFD is now stretched thin, being that they will have to cover portions of the mall and now the casino. There will continue to be mutual aid, period.

Don't forget Perkins Rowe. They are in the process of putting a petition together along with the Bluebonnet shopping center where Matherne's Supermarket is located at the corner of Perkins and Bluebonnet.

Both of those areas will ask to be annexed into Baton Rouge.

What did Central take with them when they left? I am drawing a blank on their corporate tax base.

So how is Central surviving? I know they were tight at first which is expected.

Also, who solved crimes there or was it like The Purge?

I'm not forgetting it. But why you bring it up is a mystery to me. It only hurts your argument.

The city has already said it will have to reduce the number of BRPD patrol officers if the SG revenue is lost which only supports my contention that BRPD will not be patrolling outside the city limits of Baton Rouge and into a new city of St George if SG happens.

Then why does it have the highest rating a city fire department can have for insurance purposes? C'mon, that's weak. You're starting to show your desperation by just making silly statements.

All along you have claimed the Mall and the L'Auberge casino would not be annexed. You still claim the Mall's annexation will be reversed by an appeals court based on a suit by a SG supporter. Yet you continue to claim the revenues from neither of those developments matters.

So $9 million in sales tax revenues from the Mall is lost to SG and $7 million in casino taxes are lost. That doesn't count the property taxes that SG won't be able to collect from either or the sales and hotel occupancy taxes from the casino's operations.

Yet it doesn't matter.

You can't have it both ways.

This maybe answered in this thread or not. If St George happens could it change the way the city/parish government is set up? Seems to me you would now have enough population to break out the BR mayor from being president of EBR. I am sure that scares them the most. Loss of power.

Them being BR leaders.

So what happens when the petition drops?

And what happens when the next major annexations are announced in a couple days?

They haven't been rated since the MOLA annexations. Surely you knew that.

Tell us where BRPD patrols within SG, since you keep mentioning it.

Are you referring to the Central that has already raised its school taxes where their school tax millage is now approximately 40% higher than EBR school property millage taxes.......and is asking for more at an upcoming election?

And is that the same Central who has asked voters to approve new city taxes twice and is planning on another tax election in the spring in order to build a city municipal building complex?

Is that the Central you're referring to?

I never said that. What I did say is that the MOLA annexation was likely done improperly, and could still be reversed. I have no knowledge of any impropriety regarding the casino annexation, and have never said it wouldn't or couldn't happen. I've only stated the potential loss of revenue does not stop SG.

Assuming it is the one with top rated school system, then yes.

People fleeing Central yet or still moving in?

Call 911 on Southpark. EBRPSS shows up. Despite having a station right there, BRPD ignores Southpark. You are talking about one street, regardless.

Today. Today. Today. Try to keep your comments relevant and quit moving the goal posts for every statement you can't refute.

I've done that at least 5 times to answer your same questions.

I'll do it again....just one example.

based out of the Gardere area. (which is outside of the BR city limits)
quote:

A year-long, multi-agency investigation resulted in the indictment of 28 people who allegedly participated in organized criminal activity. The indictment covers activity from 2007-2014, including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, burglary, and narcotics trafficking. Law enforcement officers from the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, the Louisiana State Police, the U.S. Marshal's Office, and the Administration of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, began executing warrants after the indictments were issued during the late evening on Wednesday, April 8. Those individuals were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

BRPD also covers the Towne Center shopping area although it technically is outside the city limits. EBPD is available to the sheriff any time the sheriff's deputies need back up or additional resources outside the BR city limits.
