This is for good reason. If one lives in South Louisiana (especially Baton Rouge or New Orleans), there's a really good chance that a lot of your fellow posters know you in real like. Baton Rouge, LP, AP, ect is really just one giant small town where everyone knows everyone. Losing anonymity on here could lead to actual consequences in life when fellow posters know you, your friends, your wife, your family, your boss, ect.

a few years ago during the WVU game I was super drunk before the game and slid into first base in an empty alex box...
i posted the video here and within 5 mins someone made a crime stoppers pic/banner of me and shite
i quickly RA to get that shite taken down but it was damn funny looking back on it.
the only other pic I posted was some pics of me and my old rock bandmate performing at some clubs years ago after a tragedy almost killed him to garner support.

I guess I just don't see the big deal. If your boss could tell that you were an active poster, they'd have to be on here just as much as you to do it. So unless you're constantly posting about your boss being an a-hole, that shouldn't be a big deal.
I guess some people just take this place too seriously sometimes

In our modern social media driven politically correct culture, you can never be too careful. People with an ax to grind against you can very well take comments made in jest, in sarcasm, or out of context on an internet forum 10 years ago to ruin your career. That's just the way of the world these days, unfortunately, otherwise, no one would hide behind alters and everyone would have a picture of themselves in their avatar.
