re: spinoff thread: moved in with in-laws

We just got done doing this from March - Mid July with my MIL (her parents are divorced).

Let's break it down for you.

First, we saved exactly 0 dollars, because she decided she was going to charge us rent after we moved our shite in, and it was too late to get an apartment.

Second, if you are even slightly handy, they will expect you to be doing all the shite they don't want to do around the house. For free of course.

You officially have no more private time. Those nice little conversations with your wife where you tell her you want to PIIHB....gone.

Most importantly, none of this will bother you near as much as it does the wife. After one month she will be ready to stab a bitch, and she will take it out on you.

My experience wasn't nearly that bad, but my parents have a OT-sized house with separate master suites on each floor (built it to have my handicapped grandmother live with us). We had a whole lot of privacy when we wanted it... most of the time.

It's definitely not for every couple though. We were lucky that the circumstances worked for us.
