Spinoff thread: Only known audio from a World War I battlefield

This is audio of the Royal Garrison Artillery firing gas shells into German lines near Lille, France. It was recorded sometime in October 1918.
It's somewhat distorted but you can still make out what the commander of the field gun in the audio is saying.
