So I've recently taken over trying to take care of an in ground gunnite pool.
I am trying to learn...
Where do you all buy hour chlorine tabs? I saw a good price at Costco but it's one of those 6 in 1 and I don't want a water softener
Also. Leslie's wants me putting in a weekly phosfree liquid. Anyone buy a similar anywhere else that isn't like $60 a bottle?
Or are Leslie's prices reasonable?

Leslies just wants to sell you shite you don't need IME.
I buy granular chlorine at WalMart and it works the same as the expensive stuff from Leslies. Just keep the Chlorine level up and you should be fine.
Also get a CYA test kit. Look around this forum. Best forum for pool advice

Basics:
-Make sure the filter is working properly
-Adjust CYA and PH to acceptable range
-If green shock to 3x normal free chlorine (FC) levels and maintain until clear
NOTE 1: mix your shock in a bucket to prevent damage to pool
NOTE 2: clean filter / backwash 1x/day until pool is clear
-Add chlorine (pucks, liquid, doesnt matter) to acceptable range and maintain
NOTE 3: i recommend using chlorine with the lowest level of CYA possible, you cant remove it without draining water, generic brand is fine but I go with as close to 99/1 mix as possible, order online with free shipping from amazon or walmart.com
-Vacuum 1x / week in summer, 1x / 2 weeks when temp drops below 75
NOTE 4: clean filter / backwash 1x/week for rest of time
