That was kind of crazier than an actual launch.... wow had no idea they could pinch it off like that.

I've seen shuttles hot fire abort before... but this is a 1st for Starship

Hopefully it’s a quick fix.

NSF saying the graphic on the SpaceX feed showed 4 engines didn't light

4 engines not lighting probably is too much to overcome & get the vehicle into space

Better to be on the ground wishing you were flying instead of flying & wishing you were on the ground

Hot fire abort probably means a rollback to the facility

Do you think any engines were damaged? I understood a hot fire abort is very stressful on the engines.

It's certainly a possibility... but that'll be up to people who make a lot more money than me to figure out

I'm guessing they'll roll the vehicles back to the facilities tonight or early tomorrow & give it a very thorough inspection

Weird to see Raptors fail en masse like that... haven't seen that since IFT 1?

At least it didn’t blow up and take the launch pad with it.

Same thing happened after hot staging on flight 12.

V3 raptor engines look very streamlined, but there may be some flaws. They almost certainly will need to swap some out.

I thought the root cause of all of Booster's reentry problems in IFT 12 had to do with the Starship's engines giving the Booster too much help with its flip away during hot staging & would be fixed by Starship's new engine start sequence

The work in McGregor, Texas needs to be ramped up

They aren’t even pretending we are going to the moon anymore.

There was an issue with hot staging not going the correct direction by 90 degrees, but I believe 5 engines on the booster also didn't re-light as well.

ETA: And one main raptor on Ship didn't light as well.

I thought propellant sloshing caused by the severe movements of the bad hot staging is why the engines didn't light... not enough fuel at the bottom of the tanks

All 6 lit but 1 did shut down not long after

Starship 40 has already been rolled back to the facility

Booster 20 is expected to be rolled back around 1 PM

SpaceX is currently targeting Monday for the next attempt to launch

ETA: apparently at least 2 engines on Booster will be replaced
