If you add qualifiers like a major carrier on US land without fatalities, then yeah. US air travel is incredibly safe.

But that’s not what the dude said.

The last fatal crash was 2009 if you remove the qualifier. That was 15 years ago. So yeah it has been extremely safe.

Before the 2000s we had several major crashes a decade.
