What about the extra weight on the roof of your house?
They aren't that heavy, maybe 40 lbs per panel (~2.5 lbs per square foot, about the same as 3/4" plywood). If you wouldn't worry about a cat busting a hole in your roof, you shouldn't worry about solar panels doing it.

If you're concerned about the total weight on the structure of the house, a 10kW installation might take 40 panels or 1,600 lbs. This is essentially nothing. A 30mph gust of wind is a much greater threat to the integrity of your roof and house than a solar array.

Homeowners listed solar panels installed in 2018 as part of their "upgrades" at a cost of $32,000.

The prior owners of our house did them as a lease. $45/month for 15 years, includes maintenance and repair, as well as removal/re-install if we need to replace the roof.

We average around $100 a month in savings, so a net of $55. That $45/month payment is flat and guaranteed for 15 years, but electricity costs go up. I'm guessing that as the panels begin to degrade some, between less output and higher value per kWh of output, probably stays about the same.

I'd rather keep $55/month in my pocket as opposed to give it to Entergy, though. Every month, I smile about that =)

When buying a house, I think solar panels are like a pool. I might pay a little more for the house, but no way am I re-paying the owners back for that.
