I have these and they work well. I use #1. Never tried the balding clippers, but they probably work well too.

Got a Wahl kit last week with a bunch of guards in different colors. Hit a 5 on top. Dropped down to a 4 on sides and then a 3 at the ear line. Did It again this week but tapered down to a 2. Feels great.
