An area that needs revitalization is blowing a huge project because Dillard’s discount refuses to budge

Saw that in the Business Report AM and PM articles. Everyone is pointing to Dillard's as the holdout

I don't see how that place makes any money. There's never more than 10 cars in the parking lot.

You think they would just end the lease and take the legal hit.

ETA: I do love that place though. It takes a few hours to sift through all the BS but you can get some really nice clothes for next to nothing.

They never would've found success in that location anyway.

I thought this died a natural when they picked that location over by Seigen Lane that they bought from the Bethany World Prayer Center?

They must think they can hold on to the space to develop something different later on? I don't get this at all??

The plan is two build two warehouses in BR. I'm sure they will quickly get into arguments with the local government and realize that it's not worth dealing with before pulling out completely. The Louisiana way

The “Dumpy Dillard’s” as I call it does have some awesome prices on good clothes though. Just go in the middle of the day or morning.

They might be doing it to screw Amazon that's probably eaten into a huge chunk of their business.

The Siegen area location is not expected to be affected by what happens with the Cortana deal though.

This was supposedly going to be a regional distribution center. Like a million sq ft.

The one on Siegen is to replace the tent on Airline I believe.
