How in the world has this place been able to avoid the wrecking ball for the last 15 years? Their tenants are a church and a catering company while the rest of the property has been abandoned for over a decade. One would think that a half brained businessman would demolish and sell the land now that the fremeaux exit is the boom area of town, right? Even when I went to high school near there in the late 90's the place was a dump, now they have the awnings collapsing, windows busted out, etc. I can't imagine what the property tax on that land must be every year...

Bugle Boy is starting their comeback there with a 680,000 sf store.

Lived in Slidell from 92-00 and always wondered how the note gets paid for there. The citizens should demand something get done with that area before developing and creating taxes for anything else. Can Bass Pro fit there?

Easily if they demolish the buildings and reconfigure the lot.

I don't know if this is true and I don't care, but it reminded me that Bugle Boy was once a thing and that it really does belong in Slidell.

I was thinking this the other day. It really does need to be demolished. It's got to be pretty valuable land right off the interstate.

Then give Bass Pro that spot instead of the land by Oak Harbor.
