Serious question, how good are you?
I prefer skiing off of the T-bar or Imperial (blacks and double blacks). If I want to let em run, Pika is my choice. If I want some bumps, Horseshoe Bowl or Imperial Bowl.

this is why i ski in Montana and Idaho. sheesh.
Heh... no shite.
Too hard to get to from Baton Rouge though. At least the 4 hour drive from Breck to Denver this time convinced the group to go back to Park City next year where I can maybe get a couple of Alta runs in.

For the not so great skiiers you can still get down from the Imperial Lift pretty easily by staying at or around the lift on your way down. It's worth going up there.

Go eat BBQ at the Arapahoe Cafe. Some of the best I've had.
Check out Peak 6 area. Just opened this year.

Was there in January. As far as going to the slopes, I would make the trek over to the new Peak 6. It is a pain to get to, especially if you are snowboarding, but worth it. The bowls are nice and some good stuff through the trees. Even though new this season, it will be quieter there than Peak 8 and 9. Peak 10 is not bad, but it lacks bowls. Peak 7 still gets beat up by traffic, but is still the bragging peak. You can enjoy Peak 6 if you are average or expert.
As always, avoid eating on the mountain and if you can purchase lift tickets ahead of time to save money. Same day lift tickets were $120 in January.
If you can and you are decent enough, go to Arapaho Basin for a day.

The long lift lines, high lift ticket prices, overpriced drinks and food, and slopes full of tools.
If you get bored with that you can drive into Denver. The travel time can take up to 8 hours if it's snowing.
Or you could go hit some good snow at Monarch. 115 inch base there. Highest in the state.

You know why Breck is so windy?
..
Keystone Sucks and Vail Blows.
JK.. have fun. Traffic between Denver and Silverthorne/Dillon on Fridays and Sundays can be brutal so plan accordingly.

They were lucky it was only 4. A few weekends ago it took people 7 and 8 hours to get back to Denver. Really glad we don't have to deal with the front range.

We have a shuttle leaving from Denver airport around 3:00 on the 9th. Will traffic be bad? We are supposed to pick up our rentals before 7.

Do night skiing at Keystone one night, or one day as well. It's not very far of a drive and it a great mountain. Night skiing is cool and a different experience.

Also be careful where you use your credit cards. Breck has had problems with credit card theft. They don't steal your card, just the number and magnetic strip scan. They usually sell the info to people in Florida.

Traffic will be going back to Denver so it shouldn't be bad, so long as it isn't a holiday or spring break.
ETA avoid the back country. We are at an all time high avalanche danger. Something like 10 people have already been killed by avalanches this year.
