Why bother expanding lanes when you're just going to block them up with train traffic? Seriously, what is it with this city and its aversion to overpasses on major thoroughfares?

That would require thinking ahead and using traffic to promote growth instead of following growth decades later with traffic expansions which end up being about a decade behind what's needed once finished. Both city planning and at least the regional aspect of state DOTD have shown they would rather do the latter than the former.
