I'd like to dig up the civil engineer who thought of that shite and kick him in the nuts.

In all likelyhood, you'd probably be disappointed. If he's dead, he probably doesn't have nuts anymore.

BR has to be the only damn capital city in the USA with only a 2 lane interstate coming into the western side of it. I'd like to dig up the civil engineer who thought of that shite and kick him in the nuts.

How many of these other cities have the interstate that enters the city from the west by crossing the largest river in the country over a bridge that was designed prior to 1963 with pre 1963 expectations of traffic and traffic growth?

Construction on the bridge began March 21, 1963. I suspect the design was started at least 2 years prior, probably longer. The guys were engineers, not psychics.

The river crossing is the reason not much can be done without spending hundreds of millions, quite possibly billions of dollars. Who do we tax to pay for it? Maybe a toll bridge (Which actually doesn't sound like a bad idea)? Then what do we displace to land the new bridgework on each side?

Living in a city with 3 to 8 lane I-systems, I cringe when I travel back home and enter the city on a 2 lane system. It always is backed up. And when a wreck happens, there is not another lane to leak traffic through.

I was driving around Seattle and WA state over the weekend. Man, what a nice place to drive.

Get back to MSY and drive to BR. I almost killed myself over the idiots hogging the left lane without passing. I then finally deduced that the 2 lane system is the reason for our woes.
