Mike Chambers was an athletic trainer, not athletic director. He was instrumental in getting LSU's first tiger. There used to be a plaque at Mike's complex about Mike Chambers.

There still is. It's not on the outside wall anymore, but it's in the mulch in one of the windows that faces the stadium

Named after athletic trainer Mike Chambers who organized a fund raising campaign from the students to purchase the 1st Tiger.
