Yea nostalgia overload is right
. I can't believe it took so long to mention the aquatic club. Grew up on woodhaven. Graduated STM in mid 2000's. Childhood was great. I spent a lot of time in the ditch behind the brec park on sharp. Back when we roamed the streets on our bikes and came home when the street lights came on. STM fair was GOAT.
Pelican seafood closed down. I know the old owners well. That was before the murder.
There's probably a lot of people that know each other in this thread. Good thread. I wish the area would come back.

If your garbage cans or bags of leaves was ever run over, that was me. We used to take our moms cars and plow into them. The metal cans were the worst when they'd get hung up under the car.

Also bought lot of beer in HS at Jerry Lee's and the Shell Station on Sullivan at Wax.
What was he name of that liquor store down by the Amite River (BR side) just before crossing on FL Blvd into DS? Coming from Sherwood it was down on the left. They would sell to 13 year olds!

My Dad had his dentist office there. I was at STM in 1st grade that day. Will never forget it.

This is the Baskin Robbins you are referring too.
I actually do remember that and helping the shoe store next door pick up..
I remember going to the Dairy Queen on Florida and playing the pin ball machines...
JB's Packaged Liquor (cnr of Old Hammond and Cedarcrest before any of that other stuff was there) had payoff pin ball machines and if you had the money and were tall enough to put it on the counter you could buy anything...
Cuban Liquor running money for the bookies...
Broadmoor when Mr. Mac was there... Tara was not built yet...

This "Sherwood Forest Nostalgia" thread has widened into a much larger area
Let's just include Fl Blvd down to the river

Martini, I've said it in a few other threads like this that I thought we ran in some of the same circles. Well it's definite now. I was the only STM guy on BR's greatest Legion team (Margarette Rogers) to play for BR's greatest baseball coach (Coach Gourrier)
