Sirens stopped... Or I can't hear anymore. Still in the polygon. Rotation is radar indicated, the Nashville severe wx guys say no debris signature.

I was considering maybe bring the family to a shelter if it was pretty hairy. The straight line winds are sort of making me hesitate as I don’t want to me on road with that, but if we need to leave, I’d do it.
If you're in a site built home with a safe place I'd stay put. Be mindful of trees, though.

That has to be outflow or RFD from that cell. I wouldn't call it classic straight line wind. Definitely the highest I've seen all day.

Yeah. If it has one down it was brief and early on in the warning. That rotation was tighter a bit ago.

Spann just mentioned that gust was at 375ft.

Just wind and rain in south Lake Charles. Good luck to everyone

Sirens are back on. 70mph wind expected, even with no tornado that's a problem. Pulled the recycling into the garage because I hate picking that up.

yeah I can hear them again too. Guys are still saying this storm is east of 65 and south of 840 so I feel like i don't need to wake up and rush the kids to the "safe room" just yet
what a pain in the arse for the nashville metro, though. Things have finally gotten cleaned up from the ice storm and now this

These cells are starting to merge with the line. It will change the overall storm structure, but it can goose things in the near term.
ETA; And Spann just voiced the same.

Does this mean the storm becomes more likely a straight line threat?

Eventually. In the short term it will basically be an embedded supercell. The prevailing flow of the line itself can influence the cell and boost the rotation.

I wish I understood how storms work and what all this stuff means as much as some of you
I basically just listen to these guys tell whether I need to worry or not and take their word for it

What are the little white dots that almost look like full moons on Spann's radar map? Damage reports? Wouldn't really make sense as far as location....

None of it is set in stone and you never really know how things will react. The Airport Rd. tornado Spann was just talking about was a case of what I mentioned. It is one of the "Red Letter" storms/tornadoes for the Huntsville area. It hit at rush hour and killed quite a few people.

I'll be on the lookout for them.

Right now there's one north of Moulton and south of Decatur which obviously haven't had anything severe yet but they do come on and off the map as the radar time lapses like lightning would but that really wouldn't make sense either

Just got a push alert on the phone for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with 80 mph winds anticipated.
Suppose I’ll be up a bit longer.
