The thread title as well as this quote are possibly misleading.

At least in the quote I saw in the video, the guy did NOT say “alien” but “non-human intelligence”.

It’s clear that he specifically chose to use this term. The reasons why are unknown - and could possibly include purposeful ambiguity itself.

As the reporter (in the video pointed out) the host didn’t ask the follow up question about how the colonel had this knowledge and was it first hand.

In addition to that, I would ask the questions what the “nature” of this intelligence was such as a biological “life form” vs “mechanical” in nature, how the interaction took place, whether or not the intelligence was native to earth and so forth.
