I had a buddy catch the plague years ago when I lived in New Mexico. He said it was the worst feeling ever and he was wishing for death at one point. Thank God for penicillin.

Kinda weird how in Stephen King's "The Stand", Colorado was a safe-haven from the plague because of the high altitude.
