We did this recently (we had ~24 hours). Hotel was by the needle, so we went there and to the surrounding museums before hopping on the monorail (really cheap) and taking it into town. Walked the three or so blocks to the Market and bummed around there. Solid way to spend a day and knock out all the touristy stuff.

Space Needle - boring...save your $
Underground tour - worth it.
Mount Rainer National Park - definitely worth it
Boeing Factory - Yes, worth it
Mariners game - very nice stadium. Stadium food sucks.
Olympic Nation Park - 2.5 hour drive from Seattle, but enjoyed it
Victoria, BC - wife liked that!!

I'm going soon as well. I'm planning to see mount rainier and maybe take a day trip to Vancouver. I would see what sport events are going on too.

I wanted to tour the Hansford site on the Columbia River where they enriched bomb material for the Manhatten Project, but you have to sign up in advance for the tours. I'm into that history stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions. I only have a Thurs, Fri and Sat night. 6:00pm and later. Working during the day.

Underground tour of the city was great

I would consider one of the city tours that they offer if the time permits. Kind of cool to get a feel for the area and check out different neighborhoods. They will def. take you to the Ballard locks, which is something kind of neat to see.
On one trip I found a last minute deal to go ride a sailboat out into the sound. Really amazing views from out there with the mountain ranges and the city sky line. You can bring drinks on the boat.
We have family there now so we do less touristy stuff when we go, but it's a damn awesome place to visit during the summer.
