I literally lived at South Street and 3rd for 2 years. During the day, it's a pretty cool street. It's very old so has bars from 60+ years ago. It's a little blue collar, some homeless around, but some cool iconic places. However, Friday night through Sunday night, I literally never ONCE went out on South Street. It is BAD. The crazy thing is I have seen what just happened multiple times.

Quick story: I walked 2 blocks to a Wawa (little convenience store) one night. I saw a group of 7-8 teenagers open up the door to a very nice condo building, and start throwing firecrackers, large fountain drinks, and slurpees into the lobby. The security guard came running out and he quickly realized these dudes outnumbered him by A LOT. He went back inside and locked the door and they started throwing rocks trying to break the glass until some policemen saw. It was insane.

The craziest part of South Street, especially where that scene was located, it's in between Old City and Queen Village which is some of the nicer area in all of Philadelphia. It's just overtaken a couple times a week

Wonder how much of a shite storm would hit the national news if one or multiple of those thugs were put down by someone legally carrying.
