Anyone have experience with them? What's the pros/cons vs a chlorine pool?

[/img] Just had a pool built. This is the first week it is up and running. I went with the paramount clear O3 and uv2 set up. Suppose to use less chlorine and no salt.

Hate to break it to you but you won't use much less Cl2 unless you are running a commercial pool or your pool is out of the sun.
Typically for residential pools the bather load is not what consumes your free chlorine it is the sun. In order for your pool to be sanitary you still have to maintain free chlorine levels of 5ppm or greater depending on your cya levels. The O3 and UV devices will destroy organics that pass through them but there is no residual disinfectant for when the clean water is recycled back to your pool and mixes with "dirty" water.

The salt produces chlorine. It's still a chlorine pool.

Have had one for a year or so. Didn't have a chlorine one before so can't compare on the upkeep but the water is much nicer. Generally just adding salt and occasionally some chlorine and other stuff.

I installed a SWG a couple of years ago and love it.
The biggest pro is that for my pool it has been throw some salt in there and forget about it. You will need to clean the SWG about twice a year.
The biggest pro is that it destroys the chloramines which is what creates the burning sensation that you get with a traditional Cl pool. Chloramines are created when the free chlorine attaches to the ammonia that is introduced into the pool from sweat, urine, or excess fertilizer if you have landscaping in the vicinity of your pool.
Cons is many people say that they experience rusting of furniture and metal fixtures around the pool. I have not experienced rusting around my pool yet.
I would recommend reading trouble free pool.com. It is essentially the TDroppings for Pool Maintenance. They promote the best way to chlorinate your pool is with straight bleach. I did this for a couple of years but got tired of running to Sams for more bleach.
