sorry I missed that post,
look I served in Iraq at no point were we ever told to fire upon civilians, nor I have ever heard anything remotely close to that. I feel pretty good about saying that is 100% false. Now could a situation arise where we were targeting something specific and there was a possibility for collateral damage, and a commander had to make a tough decision, yes that happens in every war.
Abu is different. The US did not have policy to treat those prisoners like that. they soldiers that committed those acts are a disgrace to the uniform. We told over and over treat all Iraq civilians with respect. As a medic I had to treat wounded enemy combatants. As much as I would have rather let them suffer, we are trained to help those wounded even the enemy.

I saw liberal generals and media push for and cause the imprisonment of us soldiers for grey area in the insane ROE. That's why I asked if you were ever there. It's easy to judge from half a world away, but when you actually have skin in the game, sometimes your perspective changes.

Please don't be upset that I trust the word of former marines and reputable journalists more than an anonymous, pseudo-wanna-be-hells-angel.
Ah, the sophomoric insults continue.
Once again, what was the motivation of this former marine and "reputable" journalists for making these claims of war crimes against the US?

You don't need 15k troops to completely remove Raqqa from the planet. You don't even need 1 set of boots on the ground.
I'm not talking about removing the city of Raqqa off the map. Sure, a state can drop a nuke and be done with it but we all know that is not going to even be brought to the table. Raqqa needs to be hit and taken from the ground, that is the only way to do it. We take Raqqa, devastate the evil that resides there and ISIS will, IMO, start to unravel. I am as "hawkish" as they come. As unpopular as it may be, I truly believe the U.S. and the West in general are equipped to and morally obligated to hit evil when it presents itself. I believe this world needs a force for good, a police force if you will, and the if the U.S. doesn't do it then who does this world have to look to when their backs are against the wall? To stand by and watch the slaughter of innocent life, imo, is just as criminal as the act itself. You try to save as many lives as possible, those of the innocent, and you kill as many of the evil ones you possibly can, brutally.

that's not what it is.... but if you have NO first hand knowledge of how things were over there, you opinions are based solely of the reporting of the others.
I will admit it, I have never agreed with us going into Iraq for reasons told to us, BUT we were there and I saw with my own eyes the horrors those people suffered and not at the hands of the US.

Hard to say. The clausewitzien paradigm doesn't account for an amorphous, not readily identifiable and hyper-mobile enemy like ISIS. Where and what is the center of gravity that you propose we destroy?
CoG doesn't have to be a geographic location. it's not required to identify 'where' it is.

Im sure Putins logic is just like ours with those small bottle rockets that got banned....., your not just going to throw away a good product if you already paid for it just because its illegal now....., nope, your still gotta fire them at someone.

I'm not going to praise Putin for using it.
I will however celebrate the savages being fried to miserable crisp. The only draw back is they weren't wrapped in a pork blanket and hung by their necks just before they were lit up.
I'll never apologize for any misery I wish upon them or any misery those savages receive.

You should move over there and serve them so that they can see the goodness of your heart.
These people kill their own children for the chance to maybe take out an infidel. The mistake made was our ROE.
You've got generals wanting to write books and make tv appearances pushing their personal agenda mixed with the media which should have been banned.
They used to live broadcast troop movements. That should have been considered an act of war.

Nothing compared to what those people are going through now. Thanks to people like you, Iraq was left in a power vacuum that allowed ISIS to take over and those people's lives are now far worse off; those that lived. Thanks for your "service".
well frick you very much
It wasn't because of me and the service men and women that a power vaccum was left and ISIS filled it. It was because of our current Commander and chief that pulled all US troops out and left a struggling IRAQI government to take over. Get your facts straight shite for brains
I was only having a decent conversation with you until now.
you're same a-hole that hangs out with the Westboro bapist church crazies that protest the funerals of men and women that die in the service of the very country that allows to spout off your disgusting and ridiculous ideas.
