And you think it would only make sense for tax payers to subject themselves to a “school tax” once they have children that are an appropriate age?
If you are being serious, it should fricking worry you that you are on the same side as resident retard dixiechick

so they will choose put their children in government funded schools
Lol. Do you realize most of the country uses public schools? Baton Rouge is an outlier because the public school system is horrible. I couldn't believe how many private schools were here when I first moved to the area. Private schools aren't an indication of a noble society, it's just a symptom of a shitty school system.

Good Lord. It takes the tax dollars of MANY people to educate a functional democratic republic. I also pay taxes on roads I never drive on.

But you might at some point. Even if you do never use that road it takes traffic off a road you do use, so you still benefit from it. On the other hand I have no intention on having children and therefore I will never at any point use a public school.

Runnels had no brand. Honestly, they were a good academic school with solid basketball and a great arts program. But...
Parkview has the John Curtis Protestant thing going.
Lee took many of their students
Catholic is still the Trump Card
Episcopal is a cut above
Dunham has sports and competitive arts and technology.
The Jimmy Swaggart school remains relevant due to Swaggart.
Hey, they outlasted:
Redemptorist
Christian Life/Church Academy
Hosanna

You interact with people everyday that were educated because of public school. You benefit from interacting with an educated society. It is one of the main factors that differentiate the U.S. from Afghanistan, Sudan, Liberia, etc.

St George will settle this debate when they get there own schools . Anyone should be able to send their kids to public schools and receive a good education. It’s a shame politicians have destroyed that for a significant part of LA

true in theory, not if the local schools aren't worth a shite but I guess babysitting the 16 and 17 years olds so that they have a few hours not committing crimes serves a purpose.

So just to be clear, you take issue with taxpayers using the services they pay for? And I hate to break it to you, but the private schools in Louisiana are thriving, especially the catholic ones.
I’m not really sure you have any idea about the ideas you are trying to preach
This is so stupid it doesn’t even warrant a response

Hell, one only needs to look at the legislation this session in the LA government dealing with expanding taxpayer funding for preschool.. ie early childhood education

Are you really trying to argue semantics? You aren’t dumb, you know what I meant
I’ll be more exact next time so you won’t get lost in the flow of the thread

People have come to want/ rely on government(ie taxpayers) to fund things they could otherwise pay for themselves, education being one of these.
Pay for themselves? I’d love you to elaborate on that one
