Know what the product is called? Is it ice and water?
Ice and water shield. It is a great product, but you also need to think about when you are ready to replace your roof. It can be extremely difficult to remove a roof when shingles get attached to it. Many times roofers do not even know it is there when they go to replace it and the change orders can be enormous. If you do use it make sure you know the areas and make sure it it noted in the contract.

There’s nothing much I can do. I’ve been up on the roof already and have cleared as much as I can. Almost fell off the roof. Had to jump.
I climbed up to the roof on a ladder...decided walking on an icy roof it no place for me.
If it’s only happened once in 50 years, I’ll take my chances on it happening again. Until then, I’ll keep the buckets all over the house.

I think a family member in Alexandria is going through this right now. Does the pitch of the roof affect the chance of this happening? How about a fully foam insulated roof?
