Closing out my thread...NOLA died today.
I will never spend another cent in that city until everything Landrieu took away is put back.

The only money anything in New Orleans will ever see from me again is donations to the confederate history museum.
If work wants to have conferences in Nola I'm going to argue that we shouldn't due to chances our employees would be victim of a crime.

I mean I could riot and burn down the city but then it would cause improvements.
Deciding to spend my money elsewhere because I disagree isnt being a snow flake.

O just realized mitch the bitch used Krupp machinery
you can't even make this shite up.
Krupp has done far worse things than Lee or Beauregard or any of the other horrible statues.
What an idiot
Damn that was a quick downvote. I guess we have a nazi sympathizer among us.. Krupp factory used Jewish slave labor to produce war materiel for the nazi regime. Krupp was instrumental in the development and manufacturing of a massive amount of machinery that was used to gun down Americans, British, French, and allies from all across the globe.
Ohhhh I'm interested in the defense of Krupp factory from the nazi supporting downvoters.

Do you spend money at places you disagree with? I can vacation to much nicer places and not have to worry about well you shouldn't be outside of your hotel room once it's dark.

This city......sigh........
I'm in Algiers. My neighborhood has over 300 homes in it of good tax paying citizens including the chief of police and multiple judges. My neighbor has had this leak since St. Patty's Day. It's the 4th time in the last 3 years. When sewage and water board shows up they bring every piece of heavy equipment available on a trailer and line the street for a job being done by one guy with a sledge hammer and another guy with a shovel. Last time it was a Sunday and the 20 guys hanging out under my tree we're joking about "making that overtime." This place is corrupt from the top down.

It's funny how much you people are rewarding government corruption and fraud and negligence and overreach and embezzlement and squandering of tax money.
Put the statues aside. Look at the real issue

Well, last I checked, people are still free to spend their money wherever they choose, for whatever reason they choose. And Mitch, as fascist as he is, can't do dick about it.
You don't have to like it, but there it is. What's good for the goose and all that.

Fine. They're snowflakes.
But they're snowflakes that have money they'll be spending elsewhere.

The whole deal is shady. Why not put it to a vote? I don't like the deal because I'm not a fan of trying to erase history or holding people from the past to today's standards.
Then you get these eye sores now making the city look even more run down because god forbid Mitch wait and have a plan.

New Orleans was a French and Spanish colony until 1803
Almost 100 years as the sworn enemy of most of their English then American neighbors
Louisiana became a state in 1812
only fifty years later, less than a generation, they seceded.
the civil war for the most part bypassed New Orleans as it was captured early and secured.
Robert E Lee had no history in this city and no achievements of any merit happened here...
y'all act like this is Richmond or charleston or Atlanta. It sucks that a landmark of the city is gone for no good reason and if that pisses you off you are more than entitled. But what I've heard here today is more like what I would expect to hear had a founder of the city, or a hero of the city, been removed. New Orleans was never and has never been a capital S southern city and that's a fact. I love my city and I'll defend it to the end but this (REL) is not about my or anyone else's heritage being taken away.
the primary symbols of the confederacy were imported here, and I'd bet if you asked th average New Orleanian in 1865 whether they were important you'd be very surprised by the answer

Fwiw New Orleans really didn't deserve them anyways considering how easy it is to defend as proven by their next target Andrew Jackson.
The funny part is PT did more for black people than all of the landreu family combined.

Hey big boy, I would like to know which NOLA subdivision you live in.
You seem awfully opinionated

New Orleans is fun when you are 18-22 in college and don't really care if your shite gets stolen. Then you graduate get a real job and vacation and party in much better southern cities than New Orleans.
