Thanks for all of the recommendations on the bike, fellas. I FINALLY made it out to Bicycle Word on Jefferson Highway and got hooked up. The guy there wasn't pushy at all. He didn't try to upsell me a bike or equipment. I told him what I was looking for, and he showed me a $360 Giant. That, with the helmet was $400 total before tax. I took it for a quick test ride down the side street before buying and they adjusted it for me. Got out twice so far since buying it last week for some short rides to get used to it again.

Good choice in my opinion. You kept in the budget and got a quality bike for the price. I enjoy my Giant road bike and I like the guys over at Bicycle World. The only negative will be when you really get into riding it and start looking for more expensive bikes.

Yeah, but I'll worry about that when I get there. Taking is slow right now. I was surprised as to how difficult its been to find a weatherproof case/mount combo for my phone. Ordered one off of Amazon today but I figured I would have been able to find was I was looking for locally....no luck though.

Quad lock and Rokform are the two best i've seen but I don't believe either is weatherproof. I personally ride with an armstrap. That way if i fall off or get hit, everything goes with me and the headphones don't get ripped out of my ears and something get destroyed, assuming you are listening to music.

Someone just gave me a Japanese nikishi. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of this bike and is it a quality bike?
