So you think (or know) Riverside drives around intending to tow legally parked vehicles when there are tons of illegally parked vehicles to tow?
That would be an interesting business practice.
In other news, I had someone towed this morning for blocking my driveway. Of course it was my fault because he was only going to be parked there a few minutes and I should have knocked on every door on the block to find the vehicle's owner and warn him.
That's the typical situation IMO - parked illegally and cannot believe they are being towed because it's not "that big of a deal."

No, I just love these threads because 99% of the people bitching about having there car's towed were parked illegally, and hearing them whine is great entertainment. I have spent way too much of my time having to find another parking place because the parking space that I "owned" was being occupied by some a-hole that was either stupid, can't read, or both. If your car is one of the 1% that might actually have been towed unlawfully file a complaint, the other 99% I have no sympathy for.

Never happened.

Ok buddy. I made it all up. Just like riverside goes around intentionally towing poor legally parked vehicles and ignores all the illegally parked vehicles.

Don't even get me started on Mardi Gras around here. I have off street parking and it seems like I have to deal with someone parking in my driveway every year because "the parade is starting in an hour and it was an empty spot. I thought you were not coming home."

I've seen them hook up a legally parked vehicle from Zippys parking lot.

And you know for a fact that person was a "Zippy's customer?" Or does "Zippy" let the public park there for free?

What did Zippy's do to reimburse the customer for their time and expenses?
Or does Zippy's just call Riverside and order them to bring the car back to where they found it?

Yes, I do.

your fixation with a company which is of no concern to you is unhealthy. Let it go man.

How do you know this. If true that person has an obvious complaint, more than likely against Zippy's.

Jesus, move on already. The streets need you to patrol them and keep us safe.

It's a legitimate question. How was it handled?
Posted on 11/23/14 at 3:24 pm to REG861
You got me there. My actual "fixation" is on people who park like assholes and then whine when they get towed for parking like an a-hole.
It's a different story if there is a company legitimately going around towing legally parked vehicles, on purpose, for financial gain. With the large number of vehicles illegally parked I can't wrap my head around such a business practice.

And my fixation on people parking illegally is mostly due to the fact I have to deal with someone blocking my driveway at least 2-3+ times per month.

It was my car. We were there for less than 5 minutes when I had to run out to get my niece's diaper bag. The jerk had to have seen us walk into the restaurant. We walked right past one of them.

I haven't been back since and will never return. I wouldn't want to get distracted for a few minutes and find that my vehicle was stolen.

So you park, walk into the place, walk back out to find your car gone. At this point, you are no doubt pissed and storm back into Zippy's to tell them the situation.
And their response is...

There's no doubt Zippy's should have run out there and had them take your vehicle off the truck.

I think there must be more to the story

They were in the process of hooking my vehicle up. One of them was a real jerk but they moved on to ruin someone else's day. I think they'd have been gone if I were another 30 second later.
I did go back into Zippy's to deal with my niece. Afterward, I told the manager that we would not be returning....ever.
