I am not making an excuse for people's actions, but I have to believe that any man who was captured by the enemy and was their prisoner for 5.5 years, it would affect their views on life in general.

Again, I'm not celebrating the man's death or anything and I appreciate his military service. But that doesn't make him a saint by any means in my eyes and I've read and witnessed several things that suggests that he was quite the opposite.

Most of the dumbasses celebrating his death probably voted for him 10 years ago.

You know they did. They are the worst kind of people . And I say that as a Trump voter. I just don't always agree with everything he says or does like the zombies on the poli board and in this thread

frick John McCain for refusing to resign when he was too sick to carry out his duties as Arizona's Senator.

Last time he voted was back in early December.

Selfish as frick.

Good riddance.

Half of this thread is doing exactly what the westboro baptist church does at funerals.

Fair enough. Bad assumption. But I bet the majority of those slamming him in this thread fit that description

Strange political career. Worst modern candidate/campaign for President ever. Never could decide what he stood for (or against) while in office. Patriot, I think. Part of the establishment; pretended he wasn’t when that suited him. Called a Maverick for lack of a better term. Colorful career. A curiosity. Outspoken when he shoulda been quiet; quiet when he shoulda been more outspoken. Enigma.

People like you are just as bad as the "prog filth" you claim to despise.
Honestly, how are you different than the sickos on the left who wish death and destruction on anyone and anything they disagree with?

Greatly appreciate his service and he’s a hero, but he turned into a cuck in his old age.

I’m guessing all the people calling him a cuck could certainly last 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton.

He ran for senate in AZ on cracking down on illegal immigration (he actually suggested building a wall in AZ well before Trump) and then laughed about it after he was elected.

He also actually aired commercials promising that he would vote to repeal ObamaCare and lo and behold, he voted to save it just to piss on Trump.

John McCain was backstabber and died a backstabber.

Good riddance.

I think he was an American hero and quite likely a sketchy person IRL. I think one can be both of these. Our founding fathers had plenty of skeletons in the closet.

I just don't understand the people that act like he's beyond reproach because of his military service. I'm glad he's not in the Senate anymore but not glad that he's dead by any stretch. May he RIP.

Good summary although Romney wasnt much better as a candidate in my opinion.

What the heck does that mean, just saying he wasn’t the best of character type of person he’s made out to be. Not that smart, not a great friend, pilot. Would have never gotten into the academy if not for his pedigree. I work with his son who has refused to talk to him for decades because of what a great dad and husband to his former wife that he was.
