Depends, I was asked to wear mine to a couple funerals. How am I going to say no to that?

I got drunk as frick so many times in uniform. I mean getting fricked up is in the navy fight song so I think that sort of behavior is encouraged.

I've worn my Blues for events outside of military drill weekends for:
- Both Grandfather's funerals (who were both WWII vets)
- Both siblings' weddings
- Good friend's wedding as a sword bearer as he was married in his Mess Dress
Haven't had a single issue dropping by the grocery store on the way home getting something for dinner that the wife may have forgotten.

Perhaps someone in the family requested it.
I only wear mine to formal military stuff. However, once I was asked to wear it to the funeral because the family had military ties. I pushed back but they kept asking, so I did. Definitely didn't want to. They were very grateful. It all worked out.

Says the dumbshit who never deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once. You can have your little USMC grab arse event, when I was doing route clearance in the Kunar Province.

Doesn't Kutcher get into a bar fight in "The Guardian". I don't remember if he is in uniform but I know it all starts because he is in the wrong bar.
Officer and a Gentleman. Gere and his buddy go barhopping with their dates in their dress whites.

There's a reg on this, ladies. No need for the coffee klatch gossip. Read the regulation.

No job is unimportant. In time of war his *ss would be on the front line.

I did wear the mess dress to a bar a few times after an event.

I retired in 95 and have only wore my dress blues twice since. First when our daughter asked me to wear it to give her away at her wedding. Last time at a Veteran's Day thing at school my wife works at. Btw, still fit like a glove....
