Honestly the atheists on here don't bother me too badly...but when I meet one in real life, they tend to be the most self-indulgent assholes I have ever met...which leads me to believe the ones on here are like that in real life, which is not fair because I run into the more outspoken ones outside the confines of the OT. It typically seems like they take the position of atheism for the sake of being able to argue and belittle.
The point I was making is that you'll rarely even realize an atheist is just that until the subject of faith/God/et. al. are approached. I've lived a life that's had a fair amount of intrusion from Christians without me even giving them permission to bring that kind of stuff up.
EDIT: Re-read my previous response and you'll see it's apropos to what I was responding to; not trying to start a dick-waving contest between the two groups.
