Alright thanks for the help. The mercedes was purchased before the marriage. I'm sure I'll get shite for that somehow too but I don't really care as long as I got some useful information from this thread. Worth it

Just gotta start the car and hold the brake and gas all the way down for 30 seconds
Sounds like a good way to make a new opening in the back wall of the garage

If the rotors are 1)within thickness specs, 2)have no lateral run out (no brake pulsation), 3)no evidence discoloration)of overheating or 4)scores in the brake surface, there is NO reason to resurface this. This is the opinion of most OEM's publications and field service engineers. Now a dealer might give you a different recommendation but there is no technical reason for it.

My mechanic told me for that car, the rotors need to be replaced with the pads
They always say that.
Like a dealership I worked at admitting they do free oil changes so every time you come in they can find additional things to nickel and dime you for. Frick these a-holes

Back when I had a Mercedes they always wanted to replace the rotors. It was expensive to maintain and I didn't think it was worth it. My Porsche Carrera 4 on the other hand ... I miss that car

My wife had a BMW 5 series when we got married, after I paid the first post marriage repair bill she was driving a new Hyundai.

The NEW Hyundais are remarkable cars. Really can't beat the overall value.
