In this case the hope of a corporate tax cut had a yuge role

i'm no Trumpkin, but i do like common sense. stock market started surging the day after his election and after passage of the tax bill. that says that he does something for consumer and trader confidence.

post tax bill, european countries started to worry that some of them were going to jump ship to have less of a tax burden in the US.

less people are on welfare today than when he took office.

also, even though it's not talked about outside of conservative circle jerks (i.e. the Poli board) unemployment is at record lows and dropping, namely black unemployment. he also started negotiating with companies to keep production here in the US before he took office with success.

i think Trump is a GD moron and a bully with 160 character limit keyboard. i tell my kids to NOT be like him when they grow up. he says really borderline racist shite and makes up nicknames at the age of 70.

but dammit if he hasn't impacted the economy for the greater. you can say he's just benefiting from an Obama economy, but it was 8 years of that economy and then all of the sudden year 9 everything is magically improved with the stock market making sudden gains and increases in employment?

Obama's last 2 years in office were pretty stagnant when talking about the economy.

Trump took the economy to another level.

Stock prices are often built up on optimism for the economy in the near future. That and company fundamentals. Most think the tax bill will be positive for the economy.

You simply don’t get to where he is in life being a GD moron. It is not possible. Everything else you posted is accurate, but not deserving of a green arrow with this statement.

I would have preferred Rand Paul or Ted Cruz but I voted for Trump and he's been far, far better than Hillary would have been.

Exactly.

Trump is not an idiot. He knows exactly what's going on, and how he's portrayed by the media. He also knows that by giving them an inch, that they'll take a mile, hence his refusal to comply

Very little, but both sides try to claim it's them when it runs and say the president can't impact it when it falls.

Think about it...how fragile of an economy would we have if the president could easily manipulate the stock market up and down?

Looking at historical numbers, Obama, Clinton, and Reagan all killed it...so party affiliation on the white house has little to do with it.

not seeking green arrows. i think he is the leader we need (blunt force object,) not the hero we want (nice articulate grandpa like figure that makes us feel warm and fuzzy)

when i say GD moron, i mean he says some stupid shite that it seems like somebody would have stopped an thought "maybe that was too far?" but he does not. he persists and doubles down.

for instance... he airs his DACA meeting, which clearly shows him to have business acumen and control of a meeting. then says shithole in the same room as an avowed enemy. that's moronic.

don't get me wrong, i'm happy for the things he's done. i just don't like what he says most often.

I love Trump and this bustling economy, but as a registered republican, should we blame Bush or Obama for the Great Recession? Bear in mind what obama had to take over in 2009 wasn’t the most ideal economic situation. I didn’t care for Obama’s economic policies, but to say that he had nothing to do with the recovery from 2008 is laughable.

the answer is Bill Clinton. not Bush or Obama.

i didn't say he had nothing to do with it, just that the economy had nowhere to go but up January 2009.

Some of the policies that helped cause the mortgage crisis were put in place during the Clinton administration. Sometimes it takes a long time for the ripple effect to reveal itself.
