Abba Movers

I just used Abba Movers 10 days ago. I would highly recommend.

I noticed they have some reviews and deals on Angie's List. Tell me more about why you recommend them so highly. Thanks.

Their rates are competitive, they were prompt, they were very careful with my belongings, didn't damage anything (furniture wise or home wise), did excellent job organizing my pocessions in the truck and utilized every bit of space available in my storage unit.

Did you search " moving companies" on the OT?

There have been numerous threads started on this topic, and on the OT is how I found out about Abba

Never had much luck with that search function.

I may give Abba a call tomorrow. Thanks.

All My Sons claim they are experienced piano movers, including grand pianos. They did not know how to remove the legs from my grand piano, sent my husband out to buy tools to remove the legs and still were not able to do so. We had to move from BR to NOLA without the piano. I had to hire a piano mover for an additional $500, who took the legs off and had the piano loaded on their truck in 15 minutes, same for setting it up at new location.

Filed a complaint with AG's office, related to false advertising. All My Sons responded to the complaint saying I had glued the piano legs on and they were not removable. I was unable to counter their response with bill and letter from company who moved the piano. Per AG, once complainant responds, case is closed!

All My Sons is not to be trusted.

BTW the men moving our stuff and operating the truck told us AMS doesn't teach them how to do stuff, they are expected to just figure it out. Sure, with a piano valued at $40,000!

What???

Student Movers (based in Baton Rouge) is owned by Doug Pritchard and he has been in business a very long time ago (30+ years at least). Are you referring to a Student Movers in another town/state?

PS. Used them twice and they did a great job.

Good to know. It seems that these moving companies basically just own the trucks and get day laborers to move your things.

Do professional movers exists today?
