A Fluke 101 is $50.00 on Amazon.
This is a good basic meter.
Would work great for what you asked.

I thought it was funny every response was telling him to buy a professional's meter.
My two primaries are Kleins and I only use my Fluke when I need to measure hertz or a diode or really high resistance.
The average person a loading solenoid voltage/power tester with no settings is more than enough and they are dummy proof.

My digital fluke is over 20 years old. It's taken a beating and still passes calibration. Money well spent, but the average person never even comes close to using it as much and how I use mine.
Just depends on what you are using it for and how much you are willing to spend.
BTW that Simpson is awesome. Love old Analog meters, got some Antique ones myself. Always good to have a working analog around.
