I play pool a good bit. If you want a good cue, look at Frey, Josey, or Jensen cues. If you want a production cue, McDermott or schon. Schmelke also is some of the best value cues out there. Just don't let them put their standard pin on it. Tell them you want a 3/8 x 10 pin
